Session Six: The Return of the Old Ones...?
[2024/08/12 15:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: /me cracks knuckles, opens NCs and stuff
[2024/08/12 15:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay, so, last time.... Katana revealed something.
[2024/08/12 15:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's early evening, just before the big feast
[2024/08/12 15:50] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: katana revealed?
[2024/08/12 15:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: and, with that minimalist recap out of the way... GGGGGRRRRREEEETTTTINGS, Adventurers! Other players get told they're going to kick some BBEG ass, you get told to bring a second, and a third, character sheet with you.
[2024/08/12 15:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: (From last time: The stars to the north and west seem a little... displaced. The patch of sky seems to be an oval of distortion, almost like it's a giant lens. And, quick on that realization... the creepy sense that something is looking -in- from -outside-... except... you are outside. How can something be outside outside?)
[2024/08/12 15:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: so, who's doing what?
[2024/08/12 15:52] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me looks to the stars and the creepy thing in the sky
[2024/08/12 15:53] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben is peering and squinting up at the sky, dwarven eyes good at underground darkness, not the expansive void above the sky.
[2024/08/12 15:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dahlia definitely sees it. A vague, lens-like impression, and a sense of... being looked at, from outside
[2024/08/12 15:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: To Debben, it's probably just everyday paranoia
[2024/08/12 15:53] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me noticing the looky thing , looks back at it and makes funny faces at it
[2024/08/12 15:54] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is meditating she doesn't see a thing
[2024/08/12 15:54] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana: "Best not antagonize... whatever it is."
[2024/08/12 15:55] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "It's so far away, what could we do about?"
[2024/08/12 15:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana, mutters: "....nothing."
[2024/08/12 15:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: well. Who's going to do what, bearing in mind about an hour to the evening celebrations
[2024/08/12 15:59] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: ...do we have any outfits suited for celebrations?
[2024/08/12 16:00] Sonja Bikergrrl: Hard to say; everyone seems to wear grass skirts or minimal animal skins
[2024/08/12 16:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: Mecha?
[2024/08/12 16:03] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: So we don't need to do much to change to match other than maybe shedding some layers
[2024/08/12 16:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: Pretty much, and you're guests in any case
[2024/08/12 16:04] Alicia Frakture: Once meditation is done she steps out, feeling refreshed
[2024/08/12 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dahlia?
[2024/08/12 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: and, of course, Debben? (you know you're carrying a lot of books, still?)
[2024/08/12 16:09] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): was still enjoying making faces at the sky but will stop and rest a bit making sure to have recovered all magic and such
[2024/08/12 16:12] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Oh yeah, will offload those books to a secure part of the wagon and check through the spare clothing for something light and party type to wear.
[2024/08/12 16:12] Alicia Frakture: Mmm Something smells good :)
[2024/08/12 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay, so, to the centre of the village?
[2024/08/12 16:13] Alicia Frakture: /me nods
[2024/08/12 16:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: you're about half way there when....
[2024/08/12 16:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: the shaman stops you. He's accompanied by one of the hunters from earlier. He looks closely at everyone... and Joan, Porphorin and Dahlia are quickly passed over, but he zooms in quickly on Debben, Leesha and Katana
[2024/08/12 16:16] Sonja Bikergrrl: The shaman waves a pot of something, and what looks like half a chicken, while the hunter says: "My friends, do you know you are being tracked by evil spirits?"
[2024/08/12 16:16] Alicia Frakture: know for certain? No, would we be surprised if we were... also no
[2024/08/12 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: The shaman mutters and chants something, and the hunter adds... "Powerful evil spirits."
[2024/08/12 16:18] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "To my knowledge, no current evil spirits are tracking us." She shrugs. "Some have tried in the past."
[2024/08/12 16:18] Alicia Frakture: Can you help get rid of them?
[2024/08/12 16:19] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): listens and watches with interest
[2024/08/12 16:19] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's a brief discussion, and the hunter says: "No, my friends, they will track you and find you. We can only tell you to beware corners... we can give you some temporary protection but beware, you will face powerful evil spirits. Be on your guard!"
[2024/08/12 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: The shaman dips a chicken claw into the pot, which apparanty contains red paint (hopefully red paint....) and traces a small design on Leeshas' arm
[2024/08/12 16:22] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at the mark on her arm
[2024/08/12 16:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: Joan notices the mark and rushes over. "That sign! It's why I journeyed to meet Mr Wellmeat!" (The design is a five pointed star, with what looks like a flame inside, although it could also be a rather badly drawn tree)
[2024/08/12 16:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: The shaman quickly paints a similar design on Debbens' arm
[2024/08/12 16:24] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "OOh, so thats where it comes from." Debben inspects it as well. "What do you use for the paint?"
[2024/08/12 16:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: Hunter: "I would not dare ask, my friend."
[2024/08/12 16:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: Joan: "That symbol, it's like he missing statue from my village..."
[2024/08/12 16:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: Despite glaring and muttered cursing from Katana, she gets likewise such a design painted on her
[2024/08/12 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: With Leesha, Debben and Katana "painted" thusly, they smile and gesture to the village center
[2024/08/12 16:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: onwards?
[2024/08/12 16:30] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben walks where indicated
[2024/08/12 16:31] Sonja Bikergrrl: The king is seated on a large chair, of course, as befits a king. You've places to sit on the ground, to his right, while others sit on the floor in a large expectant oval. Here and there are women with various hunks of roasted meat, making sure everyone has at least a few hunks
[2024/08/12 16:32] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Mmmmhmmmmm
[2024/08/12 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: The shaman sits with you, and in a very old voice, says: "The dances will start soon... tonight we dance the history of humankind." (You get a feeling this might be important somehow)
[2024/08/12 16:34] Alicia Frakture: I sit down, checking out the meat. "Looks delicious." Before nodding to what the Shaman says.
[2024/08/12 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: The king, who is only a little to the side, takes a rather large cut. "My friends, just where are you going? You never said."
[2024/08/12 16:37] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Of humankind," she repeats, mentally taking this down.
[2024/08/12 16:37] Alicia Frakture: Well we are escorting Joan home, and then we're.. Debben Dahlia, do you two remember the details I'm been almost killed a lot recently so my memory is fuzzy.
[2024/08/12 16:38] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me watches the big people eat the big food and prepare the show with wide eyed interest
[2024/08/12 16:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana: "It seems to me we are to explore the Mirkwood Forest for Mr Wellmeats' contact."
[2024/08/12 16:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: King: "Mirkwood! That is the home of some very bad spirits! My friends, you must promise me to be extra careful."
[2024/08/12 16:39] Alicia Frakture: Um excuse me do you have something for Dahlia? Maybe some honey or something, or.. Dahlia what else do you like to eat?"
[2024/08/12 16:40] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "We do have a habit of walking into danger." she answers. "It's kinda our profession at this point."
[2024/08/12 16:41] Alicia Frakture: And barely walking out from the way our luck goes
[2024/08/12 16:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: King: "My friends, it seems that a few small people passed through, and now there are evil spirits." He points at the anomaly in the north eastern sky.
[2024/08/12 16:42] Alicia Frakture: Leesha finally looks up in that direction
[2024/08/12 16:42] Sonja Bikergrrl: With the night sky full of stars, the distorted area is now plainly visible
[2024/08/12 16:42] Alicia Frakture: What in the nine hells?
[2024/08/12 16:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana (muttered): "It is evil."
[2024/08/12 16:45] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "have you ever seen it's kinds before?"
[2024/08/12 16:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana: "Nay."
[2024/08/12 16:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: Shall we leave it there for tonight, got work tomorrow and the heat is getting... well, hot
[2024/08/12 16:49] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( *ok
[2024/08/12 16:49] Alicia Frakture: *Sounds good*
[2024/08/12 16:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: it's a good place to pause for tonight :)
